If you have walls that are bowed, cracked or leaning inward, you have a serious foundation issue that needs to be solved with specialty products like Premier Wall Anchors right away.  The Premier Wall Anchor System is designed and engineered to stabilize cracking and bowing basement walls.  Wall Anchors are a reliable alternative to the removal and replacement of foundation walls.

Wall Anchors are also known as deadman anchors due to the placement of a cleat or dead-man away from the foundation and tying it to a wall plate mounted to the failing wall.  Opposed to I-Beams or other unsightly methods, Premier Wall Anchors provide a clean and professional finish to the repaired area without protruding into the living space.

While there are many potential causes of bowed and cracked foundation walls, the most common issue is soil pressure from outside the structure.  As water builds up in the soil, an increasing amount of weight and pressure is applied to the foundation wall, causing bowing and cracking.  Premier Wall Anchors counteract these pressures by extending out to sound soil and bracing the wall against further movement.

Premier Wall Anchors are fabricated from heavy duty, galvanized material to provide years of stabilization to basement and retaining walls.

The Premier Wall Anchors are the most economical method for providing supplemental lateral force to help stabilize bowed and cracked walls affected by hydrostatic pressures.  The installation is quick using handheld equipment and requires minimal excavation or disturbance to the yard.  For more information contact us at 800-573-7170800-573-7170.

Common causes of foundation movement

One of the most common causes of foundation movement is the shrinking and swelling of expansive soils. The degree of soil movement is determined by the amount of expansive material, and the variation of its moisture content. For example, during the spring, when the moisture content of expansive soil increases, the soil swells. During the drier months when the moisture decreases, the soil shrinks allowing the foundations to settle. Sometimes, the soil will swell enough to raise foundations higher than their desired elevation, which is referred to as upheaval.

Other Causes:

  • Drying of soils from the sun and weather conditions
  • Evaporation
  • Moisture loss from roots
  • Shallow footings
  • Broken or Cracked pipes
  • Extremely wet soil
  • Compressible soil
  • Organic Layer
  • Soils affected by water tables
  • Earthquakes and tremors
